GMA-SAFE AuditThe GMA-SAFE audit is an in depth description of a facilities policies and practices for food production, handling and storage. This information may then be used by companies to assess whether or not a facility sufficiently meets their standards and requirements. Formerly known as the NFPA-SAFE audit or FPA-SAFE, the GMA-SAFE audit saves companies from the hassle and cost of conducting vendor audits. The NFPA-SAFE was initially proposed in 1998 with the idea that a third party higher quality audit system was needed for food processors, retailers, food service and all suppliers to the food industry.In December 2007, Valley Research participated in the GMA-SAFE audit program. During the five day audit, Valley Research's quality systems were thoroughly examined. We obtained either Fully Meets or Substantially Meets in all categories. In nearly three quarters of the categories we achieved the Fully Meets status. The results of the audit are currently posted on the GMA-SAFE website and may also be accessed by contacting one of our sales representatives.
